About Us & Shamanism

Elisabeth Sikie is a modern shaman trained in several western mystery traditions, including ritual, séance and the Celtic arts. She is a writer who has performed her visionary poetry in the Bay Area as The Poetrix, as well as a yoga teacher trained in the Iyengar tradition.

Elisabeth was born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca. As a child, she exhibited signs of sensitivity including clairsentience, lucid dream states and spirit contact. As a young woman, she earned a degree in journalism, but felt pulled to explore her spiritual nature. She studied comparative religion, including a deep study of Zen, and the ancient matriarchal material of Marija Gimbutas, Vickie Noble and Starhawk, among others.

Currently she is a graduate student at California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco where she is getting her Master's degree in Philosophy and Religion with an emphasis in the pioneering academic field of Women's Spirituality.

Elisabeth trained at the Amron Metaphysical Center under the guidance of noted mystic and psychic Norma Tringali. At Amron, she underwent a comprehensive intensive training in a variety of esoteric disciplines including, séance mediumship, ancient healing, numerology, psychic development, and cross-cultural shamanic technique. Later, she was ordained and worked as a minister and teacher at Amron.

With the encouragement of Norma Tringali, Elisabeth pioneered a one of a kind training program in mediumship/intuitive and psychic awareness and technique. The training explores modes of perception and techniques for safe and effective travel into other realms in an experiential group context.

Currently, Elisabeth lives in Oakland, CA., where she works as a spiritual counselor at the BlueDog Temple Space. Her passions include bringing back the mysteries of the Great Goddess, modern poetry and her dogs.

Ann Marie Melanephy is an accomplished energy healer, séance medium and massage therapist. She is a native of San Francisco with Irish Catholic lineage. Ann Marie then deepened her hands-on healing skills at Diamond Light which taught energy massage and healing.

Her path eventually lead to Amron Metaphysical Center where she underwent several years of diverse esoteric training, including cross-cultural. While at Amron, Ann Marie discovered her mediumship abilities. Under the guidance of noted medium Norma Tringali, Ann Marie intensified her training and worked as a medium in public seances for several years. Ann Marie currently works as a séance medium and energy healer. Her passions include world travel, rowing and her cat Athena

Karen Fabian is a talented psychic - a true "seer." From an early age she showed tremendous intuitive abilities, including clairvoyance and a psychic connection to the animal kingdom. As a child she was educated in piano, dance and equestrian horseback riding, and has shown a natural aptitude for art.

We Are Modern Shamans

As modern shamans we work to heal and transform the inauthentic parts of our Selves so that we can affect positive change, individually and collectively. As modern shamans we work with the natural energies of the Earth, the Cosmos and all the worlds in between. We honor and serve our Ancestors, our Beloved Dead, and all life-forms as diverse manifestations of Divine Intelligence. There are many conversations about who or what a makes a "shaman."

After research and personal experience, BlueDog understands a shaman to be someone who:

  • Intentionally shifts consciousness to "go into" non-ordinary realities.

  • Navigates that reality in order to "bring back" healing, and information not available through "normal" modes of perception.

  • Is aware of, and works with the energies that connect all life forms.

  • Is aware of, and works with Spirit Guides for the purpose of healing.

  • Fulfils a necessary and ancient human role that is an integral part of a healthy community.

Calling to the shamanic path can be identified by some common Phenomena:

  • Advanced psychic/intuitive abilities

  • A near death experience or illness, or other trauma that brings a person face-to-face with death.

  • Unsolicited contact with spirits and/or the Beloved Dead.

Some books we think capture the essence of shamanism include:

  • Cowan, Tom. Fire in the Head: Shamanism and the Celtic Spirit.             HarperSanFrancisco. 1993.

  • Halifax, Joan.      Shamanic Voices: A Survey of Visionary Narratives.    New York. E.P. Dutton-Penguin Books USA. 1979.

  • Metzner, Ralph. The Well of Remembrance: Rediscovering the Earth Wisdom, Myths of Northern Europe.    Shambala. Boston. 1994.

  • Noble, Vicki        Shakti Woman: Feeling Our Fire, Healing Our World. HarperSanFrancisco. 1991.

We offer ourselves and BlueDog for the good of all and the healing of all our relations, according to the free will and receptivity of all.  So mote it be.
