Why
We Are Called BlueDog & Our Love for the Dog
We called ourselves
BlueDog because the Dog is a sacred, loyal animal who has chosen to
work and live with humans, more so than nearly any other animal. We
consider that no small sacrifice and no small gift. Historically, the
Wolf was Teacher and Brother to ancient people because Wolf society
was an example to man of how to live in a family-tribal structure.

Clues
to Our Origin
Berkeley professor says
160,000-year-old remains found in Ethiopia lend weight to humans' roots
in Africa. The skulls of two adults and a child may likely be near
ancestors of a primeval but very human Adam and Eve who roamed the lush
shoreline of the lake and nearby hills and savanna, slaying hippos and
crocodiles for meat.

The Incredible Traveling Embodiment
So.....I'm on my way up
to Sebastopol to study the work of Archeologist Marija Gimbutas with
my teacher Joan. I've been turned on to the Neolithic art that was
illuminated by Gimbutas' intense scholarship, which appears to depict
the sacredness of the female body. Symbols on the artifacts include
sublime swirls, meandering chevrons and pelvic triangles. The study of
this art is part of my graduate work...

My people can't see that we're walking in circles like
nomads in a foreign land
In boxes in bubbles like oxen we'll work so hard
Idealistic visions of a world removed from separation
In darkness, indifference, we'll all have our conflicts and our
weakness
Look within at your own divination and you'll see that we're all one.
Like insects, shedding our skins
What kind of insect trap have we gotten ourselves in?
Metamorphosis given us wings!
What do we do with them why have they given us these things?
Adapting to infinity and the energy therein
Until the boundaries between us start to wear thin
Waiting, wanting something solid to stand on
I'm getting anxious, feeling restless.
I'm aching with laughter
Awaiting disaster.

Madonna
- American Girl
Madonna makes a point with her racy and provocative American Girl
video. Originally slated for release during the Iraqi war, this
video never found its way to MTV. According to madonna.com, she stated
the material in the video was inappropriate during "the times at hand."
This copy of the video - recorded from a foreign television station -
was posted on several websites for weeks, before it was removed.

My Teacher Was a Tarantula
Recently, I had the opportunity to rescue a tarantula. He came to me, incredibly pissed-off, in a peanut jar. A friend found him walking across the road in a hotter part of the state and decided
to catch him. I happened to be there when he brought him home. There he was, large, hairy, and scared, propped up, pink fangs exposed, stuck in a jar too small to even put down all eight legs....

Is This Globular Cluster our Ancestor?
You are looking at about a half million stars orbiting their own center. This phenomena of gravitationally bound concentrations of stars, is called a Globular Cluster. This one is M13 and is visible in the Hercules system. M13 is actually moving away from our point in space toward what the astronomers call the "Galactic Center" of the Universe...

Here's a hilarious and sobering relic of American culture. This article explains exactly what it takes to be a good wife. It's
pretty scary to realize that this attitude was considered
"normal" only about fifty years ago... |

Mt.
Shasta: Experiencing Ascension
During last October's full moon, my friend Aphrodite dragged me by the hand to a healer's conference in Mt. Shasta. It's funny how we resist the very thing we need. And boy, did I whine! "I can't go because of money, of time, of the inconvenience...," and my now famous and laughable temper tantrum of the xenophobe, "If I get abducted by aliens, I'm never gonna talk to you again."
